Russian internet ombudsman asked prosecutor to inspect Roskomnadzor’s activity

Russian internet ombudsman, Dmitry Marinichev, asked Russian general prosecutor to inspect Roskomandzor’s activity when the last en masse have blocked a lot of wrong IP addresses in order to restrict access to telegram in April this year. This proposal was made in annual Russian business book of complaints and proposals.

Russian Ministry of culture “knows” where you can find illegal copies of movies in internet

It has been received a permission to distribute one movie, the Death of Stalin, in Russian cinemas. But then, due to “public opinion”, the permission has been revoked. The reasons is not so interesting, the most interesting is the fact, that Russian ministry of culture (MinCult), the authority supervising distribution of movies in Russian cinemas, knows where to watch the illegal copy of this film in internet.

Significant part of products in Russian light industry is counterfeited

It means approximately one third of all products in Russian light industry is illicit and counterfeited. Not all these products have been produced in Russia. Part of them has been imported thanks to weak customs control at the borders with China and countries of Eurasian economic union. According to Russian ministry of trade the illegal turnover in light industry counts up to 1.4 trillion Roubles.

The Russian government has taken a course towards to import substitution. It relates to different types of industry including software which is used in state authorities. Russian prime-minister proposed to suspend Google‘s activity in Russia

Actually it was something between joke, allegation and dream. The prime minister Medvedev has said it on economic forum in Sochi. He said it as the answer to the call to support Russian companies in internal market and “to nurture ours”. And the answer was to suspend Google(‘s activity) in separately taken country.
