The Russian president has sign the new law establishing the new register containing information on all Russians. The operator of this new register is to be the Russian Federal Taxation Service.

Once upon a time the Russian president has proposed to provide Russian citizens with free internet. Little then the proposal has been detailed – the free internet only for socially significant web-sites or web-resources. Clarifying of proposal required the list of so called socially significant web-resources. The relevant Russian state authorities have drafted the list and terrified the internet service providers (ISPs).

The choreography in a musical, a music video, or a motion picture may be registered as a choreographic work (or as a contribution to a dramatic work or audiovisual work), provided that the dance contains a sufficient amount of copyrightable authorship and provided that the dance is claimed as a distinct form of authorship in the application.

As part of the Digital Single Market strategy, a directive amending the Satellite and Cable Directive has been introduced in 2019. The directive entered into force on 6 June 2019 and must be implemented in Member States’ legislations by 7 June 2021.

Currently Russian authorities consider implementing idea to register each smartphone in Russia. Is it possible to do this? Partially yes, but it would be very costly first of all for ordinary customers. Originally the idea is to register all smartphones already sold to customers.

Derivative choreographic works
A derivative choreographic work is a work that is based on or derived from one or more preexisting works, regardless of whether the preexisting work is a choreographic work, a pantomime, or any other type of work listed in Section 102(a) of the Copyright Act. Typically, derivative choreography is a new version of a preexisting choreographic work or an entirely new work that combines preexisting choreography with a substantial amount of new material.

The Russian antitrust service has proposed to apply antitrust regulations in relation to intellectual property deals in Russia, in other words it was proposed to diminish monopoly provided by intellectual property.

It supposed to be free access for social significant web-sites and online services, like state services for Russians, but including web-sites of mass media. Telecommunication operators dislike this idea, they ask for compensation of losses linked to free internet access for Russians. They would be obliged to transmit huge amount of traffic without payment requirement. The free internet access should be provided since 1st of March this year, but, as always, it wasn’t provided.
