Internet companies have almost agreed with certain provisions of proposed regulations for OTT-services operating in Russia, but also have their own amendments in order to improve regulation and exclude from its scopes Russian projects, including those, which already have been funded by foreign investors and operate in Russia.

Many developed countries work hard in order to provide informational security in national interests. They adopt new laws, adapt to new digital realities, but internet, at least most part of it, is not banned. But sometimes it is easy to simulate hard work, instead of to do it. The only way to provide informational security in Russia is to enforce restrictions on internet like in China, believes German Klimenko, Russian president’s councilor on internet.

People like good music, movies and other entertaining content, especially when the interest to such content is really high thanks to advertisement or high ratings. Producing of such content requires time and money and right holders expect to make good money on their assets. And when they see their content on pirate website, certainly they make everything, what they can, in order to block the access to their content disseminated illegally.
