Who executes identification under proposed procedure? It is officers of Roskomnadzor. Identification is necessary in order to restrict access to certain web-site of web-page where is published information forbidden for dissemination in Russia. The Roskomnadzor is the operator of the single registry containing the URLs, domain names and network addresses of web-sites in internet where is published information forbidden for dissemination in Russia.

Russian legislators proposed to ban apps for copyright infringement

They proposed the new draft law. It introduces new definition – the owner of app. App owner is the owner of software for computer where the information, containing copyrighted subject matter excluding photos or containing information necessary in order to receive such copyrighted subject-matter with help of telecommunication networks, is placed without proper permission of right holder or other legal ground.

Russian state duma can make laws on blocking of web-sites more tough if necessary

Recently the Russian court has decided to block access to Telegram messenger. Some are glad to this decision, some are not. Users have reacted differently: some part of them have changed messenger, some part of them has laughed and switched on their VPN. Some people, who make money through telegram, hope users residing in Russia will use VPN.

Significant part of products in Russian light industry is counterfeited

It means approximately one third of all products in Russian light industry is illicit and counterfeited. Not all these products have been produced in Russia. Part of them has been imported thanks to weak customs control at the borders with China and countries of Eurasian economic union. How goes implementation of VPN law in Russia?

According to Roskomnadzor Russian ISPs illegally restrict access to web-sites

Russian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) sometimes restrict access to law-abiding web-sites just because they aim to avoid penalties for non-compliance with Roskomnadzor’s order. Russian authority, supervising internet, Roskomnadzor calls such practice “excessive blocking of web-site in internet”. Sometimes web-sites of banks and retailers fall under restriction of access. Such restriction can cause damages.
