Russian government wants accredited collecting societies in Russia to be more transparent

Russian government has directed Russian ministry of economic development to form permanent working group, which should consist of persons from different authorities and companies to improve collection of non-tax payments including, what most important is, royalty payment collected by Russian Authors Society (RAO) and Russian Union of Right holders (RSP).

As deputy of minister of economic development has mentioned “The list of taxable equipment and the legal system the Russian collecting societies operate under is to be reconsidered.” Russian government also intends to implement certain measures in order to make the work of RAO and RSP more transparent. Working group has a time till 15th of July to report about measures taken.
