According to Izvestia, three accredited collecting societies (Russian Authors Society (RAO), Russian Union of Right holders (RSP) and All-Russian Organisation of Intellectual Property (VOIS)) have decided to merger. RAO’s CEO has informed about it Russian Ministry of Culture and Minister of Culture has upheld such idea. Not all CMO’ members understand what exactly means merger of all three CMOs. Some of directors are already concerned over upcoming changes. “Optimisation” of costs etc. can cost them a position in CMO. They don’t like it.
