Shifting from analogue to digital TV signal in Russia is not as easy as planned

Many years Russian authorities prepares to digital TV broadcasting. For this purpose many households, at least in major cities, have been connected to digital TV thanks to telecom monopolies. Such telecommunication monopolies have provided households owners with special equipment and with internet access. But for digital TV in state scales a relevant infrastructure is necessary.

It was proposed to introduce a licensing for video bloggers in Russia

Vladimir Soloviev, the head of the Russian Reporters Union, proposed to provide obligatory licensing for reporters making videos on YouTube channels. Such mandatory licensing has to solve the problem of fake news. But what the phrase “our colleagues” means he did not clear. It could include any video blogger. KFC has been sued for copyright infringement in Russia

Two actors, featuring in promotional KFC’s advertising videos, have sued Russian KFC for copyright infringement. They seek 31 million Roubles compensation. These actors have concluded with KFC contracts for participation in KFC’s advertising campaign in 2014. They claim in 2017 the term of KFC rights have expired and KFC had to conclude new agreements or seek new permission, but did not do it.
